Special Events
The Special Events Department supports a vibrant, balanced mountain resort community by permitting events within Park City limits and coordinating with community partners, neighborhoods, and local, county, and state agencies.
Events play an important cultural and economic role in Park City, with a diverse calendar spanning arts, recreation, and seasonal experiences. The Department works to ensure public safety, minimize impacts on residents, and efficiently manage events throughout the area.

Park City & Event History
Long before Park City, Utah became a world-class ski destination and popular event location, it was a booming silver mining town. Founded by prospectors in 1868, Park City continued to mine silver until the 1970s and at one point was considered a ghost town of the Wild West. Park City is now home to two world-class resorts, Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain, and permits nearly 80 events per year.
