The Engineering Department plays a vital role in shaping and maintaining Park City’s public infrastructure through development review, engineering oversight, and capital project delivery. The Department oversees all privately funded public improvements associated with development projects, ensuring that work within the public right-of-way is designed and constructed in accordance with City standards and community priorities. Working collaboratively with the Planning and Building Departments, the Engineering Team helps guide responsible growth while protecting the City’s infrastructure investments.

The Department also leads and supports the delivery of capital construction projects across the organization. In addition to providing traditional city engineering services, the Engineering Team includes a dedicated capital project management group that partners with multiple City departments to manage project planning, design, construction, and technical coordination. This collaborative approach helps the City successfully deliver complex public improvement projects that serve residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

Park City Supplemental Standards and Specifications

The City has adopted the American Public Works Association (APWA) Standard Specifications and Plans as the standards for all construction and improvements in the public right-of-way. The Engineering Team additionally maintains and update the City Supplemental Standards and Specifications to be used in conjunction with the APWA standards.
